Short answer: most tree removals around Houston start around $1,000, and the price climbs from there based on the size of the tree and how hard it is to get to. A small tree in an open yard is on the low end. A big pine leaning over your roof with power lines in the way is a different job.

What drives the price
Size. A 20-foot crepe myrtle and a 70-foot pine are not the same job. Height, trunk diameter, and how much canopy there is all add up.
Access. If we can get a bucket truck or a crane right up to the tree, the work goes fast. If the tree is in a fenced backyard with no gate wide enough for equipment, it has to come down piece by piece by a climber, and that takes longer.
What is around it. A tree out in the open is straightforward. A tree over your house, a fence, a pool, or power lines has to come down in controlled sections so nothing gets damaged. That care costs more, and it is worth every dollar.
The stump. Removing the tree and grinding the stump are two things. Most folks want the stump gone too so they can replant or build, and we can roll that in.
Cleanup and haul-off. Some companies leave you with a pile of logs. We haul everything off and leave the yard clean, that is part of the price, not an extra.
